Human needs inspire me—while an optimism that inclusive, empowering experiences & teamwork are always an option, what drives me. Design excellence and craft co-existing within implementation constraints and through cross-functional collaboration, is my daily north-star. I lead through collaboration and by example, both with other design practitioners and non-practitioners alike. Embracing the beautiful mess of human needs meeting business opportunities at-scale, will always be my favorite design problem. My pronouns are she/her.

On my mind: art, architecture, accessibility, design ethics, co-active leadership; scaling people & teams, interaction design, typography, inclusion; open source, metalworking, Zebra unity, epic powder days, ice hockey, culture jamming. Maybe (possibly) just a few other things, too.

ninavizz is my universal handle, as well as my gmail. My public PGP key is advised for sensitive matters.

I live with my partner and two mischievous cats on a tree farm at the base of Mt Hood, in rural Oregon; which has been a delightful midlife change after 20+ years in the San Francisco Bay Area. I enjoy travel, CrossFit, outdoor adventure, and taking-in the Milky Way on clear nights from home.  I also co-lead Portland’s IxDA chapter, and am still gunning for that elusive gig driving a snowcat groomer at 2am on the slopes of Mt. Hood.
